Introduction

In the Qing Dynasty, there was a bossy 'princess' (Liza Wang) - known to everyone as Sheuk Lan Kak-Kak - who is a cousin of the queen (Natalie Wong). Although she's married to Ling Fung Tak (Sek Sau), she still exerts her influence on everything around her. The series begins with the Kak-Kak intent on choosing a wife for her son Ling Mau Chun (Bosco Wong). During the course of events, she accidentally marries him to Tin Lik / Sap Yat (Myolie Wu), who is the daughter of the leader of a gang of thieves. Thus begins the battles between mother and daughter-in-law with the son stuck in the middle, having to win the affections of his wife as well as keeping his mother happy, playing the sympathetic/soft one. However, he is actually a great martial artist who is hiding a secret from them all, a secret that threatens the entire family.
