I must admit, after seeing some commercials and some posters and before I watched it, I didn’t really think of this movie as anything other than trash. I dislike teenage movies, because their dull love stories and “funny‿ twists. After some time of bore, I decided to purchase a movie – just for the heck of it – and I decided to buy My Sassy Girl…. That is MY story posted on the net, somebody please turn it into some movie. This two-hour film manages to entertain with an unpredictable funny plot and delivers an enjoyable love story. Visually a masterpiece, and I’m not saying this only because of Jeon Ji-Hyuns appearance, but because it’s actually very good. Jeon manages to impress non-stop during the movie, with her drunk, violent and crazy appearances. Her bullying of Cha Tae-Hyun makes it even better, and of course Cha does an equally good job as a punching bag. Although, the film is very good overall, it can easily be divided in to good parts and lesser good parts, or even bad parts. Since the director himself divided the movie in “first half, second half and overtime‿, I’ll take that view and claim “overtime‿ to be were the movie went downhill. This point is where it starts to get very traditional in terms of melodramatic romance, and the ending was all too predictable. If Kim really experienced it, then bravo to him. Amazing, really. Though, as a movie, I was left with a feeling of “eh?‿ by the end of it. Jeon did a very good job creating a charming character, as did Cha with his priceless facial expressions, but even that couldn’t save the ending. Who knows? Maybe the ending was good, but what the film had built up the first 1½ hours were just so great, that one would have expected a grand ending of some sort. It just didn’t come. Anyhow, if there’s a reason to say this movie wasn’t perfect, I’d say it was because of the ending.
