After starting as a singer in Hong Kong's Temple Street. She entered the showbusiness as a professional singer. Due to her sexy image, daring performance and powerfull voice, she became one of the legends of the 80's. She was almost the sole female dominatrix of the hitcharts.
As almost every famous celebrity back then, she took her chances in acting too with not disappointing results. She often took parts on movies too, on many occasions in Jackie Chan's movies.
She was the "mentor" of the popular Hong Kong boyband Grasshopper and also Hui, Andy (Hui Chi-On).
However, she died at a young age due to cervical cancer. Although her medical advisors urged her to do a removal operation, her will to bare a child was so strong that she denied the advice and tried to fight her cancer. And for her fight, she recieved the mental support of every Asian around the world. Sadly, her fight ended in a loss.
Her sister also died of cancer a few years before her.
After her death, her mother is using her fame to gain publicity and wealth.
