Gordon Lam Ka-Tung graduated from TVB’s 15th Artist Training Class in 1988. For the next 7-8 years he was no more than an extra in most television productions. It wasn’t until Lam’s impersonation of Jacky Cheung caught the attention of HK audiences that his star began to rise. Suddenly, Lam was being offered juicier roles and the first TV series he starred in, “Time Before Time�, was one of the most popular serials of 1997. He has had the opportunity to appear in films as well, with small roles in Gen-X Cops (1999), The Kid (1999) and Infernal Affairs (2002). Lam signed with Andy Lau’s Teamwork Motion Pictures Ltd. in 2001 and is now working on building a serious movie career. He was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Hong Kong Film Award for his role in Dance of a Dream (2001), which features a sample of his Jacky impression. (Yinique 2003)
