What is this AF-media wiki?

The AF-media wiki is designed to provide a place for a comprehensive and centralised resource about Asian (and other cultures') TV series, movies, music, and media. We encourage community contribution and control over the content.

What exactly is a "wiki"?

A wiki is a community-contributed collection of interlinked web pages. The key concept of a wiki is that any page can be edited by anyone, and at any time. This encourages extensive peer review of the content and an open exchange of information — indeed, these are some of the keys to the success of the scientific method and open source software.

So can I edit a page?

Yes! This is the core concept of a wiki, and one of its greatest strengths. By pooling knowledge and skills from the whole community, we can build a site which offers accurate and authoritative information.

If you really wanted (or feel extremely bored), you could even edit this page. However, it's probably best to leave pages alone if you don't have anything beneficial to add. If you just want to play around and test what features the wiki offers, it's best to do so in the Scratch page page.

Do I need an account?

No, it is not necessary to have an account in order to edit articles --- anyone can edit articles anonymously. Only your IP address will be recorded. However, account owners do enjoy some additional benefits. You will be able to upload images, as well as possibly gaining a positive reputation thanks to some good quality contributions.
