Part 1 is about the father & the mother's life : Simon Yam & Michelle Yim. They left Hong Kong for China and lived there. Their lives were very poor and then they died.

Part 2 is about the sons and daughters. It concentrated on Felix and his friend Lawrence. They lived very poorly in China and then they left China for Hong Kong. Felix seemed always to be successful while Lawrence wasn't. Felix first loved Yvonne but she didn't respect their love. Later Felix said goodbye to Yvonne and started his love to Jaime Chik, Yvonne's sister. The love between Felix and Jaime was so moved to tears.
