Tung Fei (Sammul) ignores his father's will and sneaks out from his village without his sister's knowledge. His sister, Dung Lam (Joyce) was out at town to do something. Fei then meets a fisherman, Sheung Foon (Ron) when he was following his sister and asked Foon to lend a place for him to hide from Lam. Then, they meet a wealthy business man's daughter, Hiu Suet (Mandy) when they were at a river to see tides. Lam and Fei then meet Sheung Foon's family, and stay at their place. Foon and Fei become best friends. They then get to know Suet and they become good friends with her. Foon has been admiring Suet and Fei tries to help him out but he himself falls in love with her later on. Lam and Fei then finds out that their father's death was uncleared, therefore they decide to settle down at Hangzhou. And for convenience, Lam pretend to be a guy. Lam and Fei meets Ting Wai (Yuen Wah) who is a imperial guard that is good in martial arts and pretends to be a construction worker in order for him to investigate his brother's death who was killed by the "Congzhao Five Ghosts". Lam and Wai are enemy at first, but after some ups and downs, they both fall for each other. Wai teaches Fei and Foon his martial art skills and Wai, Fei, Foon and Lam cooperate together to find out about the "Five Ghosts", not just for Wai, but also for Lam and Fei as they finds out that their father's death was closely connected to the "Five Ghosts" during the investigation. On the other hand, Fei and Foon fights and argued over Suet, and Fei gets blinded over greed and hurts Foon badly.
