An extension from the previous four series, "File of Justice V" continues to depict the complicated relationships among modern people while at the same time, also relays several absorbing court cases. Chun Bobby Au Yeung Chan-Wah was entangled in a love triangle with the independent doctor Stephanie Joyce Koi Ming Fai and the attractive call girl Tung Ada Choi Siu Fan. Yu, on the other hand, ended his relationship with Fai Jessica Hester Hsuan. He then became involved with Fai's friend, Cat Flora Chan Wai Shan.

Chi Fai (William So) met Yui (Chen Xiao Yun) and they planned to get marry. However, Yui was raped by an AIDS carrier and they ended in separate ways. The remaining couple, Hong (Tam Yiu Man) and Hei (Chan Tsz Ching), also broke up in the end because they held different values...
