This series is a biography about Tung Chu Kwan, a young brothel singer from Shanghai who survived drudgery and became one of the most celebrated women in Chinese history. Anne Heung will play Tung Chu Kwan. Michael Miu Kiu Wai, though not yet confirmed, is likely to play her abusive KMT husband who purchased her freedom from the brothel, married her, and took her to Japan with him.
